Polar Life Haus produces modern wooden homes using mainly spruce. Spruce has a cellular structure similar to the heartwood of pine, making it extremely strong against harsh weather conditions and humidity. It also has a beautiful light colouring and smaller knots compared to pine. Unlike many other wood species, spruce does not redden over time, but gets a beautiful beige tint.
