Kalve is a project we developed for a specific site on the extremely exposed west coast of Norway and the first house is already under construction.

The shaping of the building follows a sloping terrain and forms a shelter that combines vast views with a protective indoor and private rooms. Also, the terraces form part of the design envelope to create a seamless integration between inside and outside.

The shape of the building provides a loft or second floor under the taller ceiling which, depending on size and layout, offers different zones in the interior or additional bedrooms etc.

The slanting wall combines the effect of opening up the interior spaces with functional details to optimize the daily use and practical functions.

The layout and the shaping of the volume ensure a layered experience of spaces and different zones of the interior and the exterior.

The terraces seek to combine exposed and covered areas, where you can find at least one side leeward.
