Leading product development
Product development is highly valued and encouraged at Polar Life Haus. If there are no existing solutions available to realise the design chosen by our customer, our job is to make it possible. This way of thinking has made Polar Life Haus the technology leader in log building solutions. Have a look at some of our innovations that make your own Polar Life Haus home special in terms of quality and the number of details!
The original Softline Profile has a drip break, which conceals the small gaps between the logs, making them invisible. It also prevents rainwater from enterin the insulation space, which contributes to the longevity of your log home. What is more, it gives the house an elaborate and finished look.
Compared to more common and traditional log home building materials, spruce has many unequalled characteristics. It has a beautiful light coloring that darkens only moderately over time. Knots in the wood are typically small and pale. Also, the resistance to humidity is what makes spruce superior compared to pine. Spruce is extremely strong against moisture, in a way similar to the heartwood of pine.
Post & beam construction
Post & beam construction is a traditional method of building in Central Europe. Polar Life Haus has further developed it to create modern wooden homes. In this construction, laminated beams function as the load-bearing frame that can then be filled with the material of choice, be it logs, panel or glass.
Non-settling log home
If you are dreaming of a log home that is easy to maintain, a post & beam log home is the right choice for you. A post & beam home is built like a fine piece of furniture where all joints are accurate to the millimeter and fit together perfectly. In this construction, sturdy posts ans beams of laminated wood create the load-bearing frame that is then filled with logs, making the house free of settling.
We are proud to present the widest log on the market: the Maximum Log as wide as 600 mm! Super wide logs are our specialty, and we have a large selection of different logs, from planed logs to horizontally laminated logs and round logs, in all sizes imaginable. Just pick your favorite!
To realise log homes with modern design, we have developed what we call the City Corner, a solution to replace the traditional notch with long log ends. It is a both airtight and aesthetically pleasing remake of the traditional dovetail notch, and perfect for contemporary log homes.
